Community-based service is emphasized and supported as part of the college's mission as a Catholic, Benedictine college. The majority of Saint Anselm students are involved in some form of service through the Meelia Center for Community Engagement, the Office of Campus Ministry, and academic service-learning programs.

They provide service at community sites such as schools, homeless shelters and youth development centers; domestic and foreign communities; and campus-based programs such as Humanities After School and College Access for local high school students.

It is the seventh year Saint Anselm College has been named to the Honor Roll since the recognition program was founded in 2006.
