In 1989, Saint Anselm College established the Center for Volunteers with faith and understanding that the college could make a difference in the greater Manchester area. During the last 26 years, service has become a defining characteristic of Saint Anselm College and volunteer opportunities have grown exponentially.
Annually, more than 850 students, faculty, and staff volunteer more than 32,000 hours through the Meelia Center for Community Engagement (formerly Center for Volunteers) and Service & Solidarity Missions Program through the Office of Campus Ministry, and that number doesn't include volunteer hours completed from athletic teams, student clubs and organizations, and special events such as the 9/11 Day of Service, the Food, Clothing, and Furniture Drive, and the Holiday Fair and Valentine's Day Dance for the community (pictured here).
