Saint Anselm College earned high marks in a national assessment of students' learning outcomes. The results of the recent Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) placed the college in the 94th percentile of colleges and universities for significant academic growth.
The CLA, a major initiative of the Council for Aid to Education, measured skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and written communication. Students completed performance tasks and analytical writing tasks to demonstrate their skills.
The study, conducted from 2009 to 2013 included a cross-sectional study in 2009-2010 of freshmen and seniors and longitudinal analysis of 2009 freshmen, who were tested again their senior year in 2013.
Saint Anselm took part in the assessment to test its learning outcomes. The positive results demonstrate the strength of Saint Anselm College's liberal arts education in growing highly valued skills that employers are seeking in graduates.
In a recent study of Saint Anselm College's class of 2013, within six months of graduation, 98 percent of the class was employed, in graduate school, or engaged in service. Learn more about this study and where our alumni are working at www.anselm.edu/alumni-profiles.
