Stained glass in Abbey ChurchSaint Anselm College is celebrating our founding legacy with Benedictine Heritage Week, April 2 to 8. This week provides students, faculty, and staff with opportunities to study the college's history, tradition, and intellectual values.

Event organizer and theology professor Kelley Spoerl is excited for this year's traditional and new programming.

"This year we have a ‘Learn to Meditate: Presentation on Christian Meditation,' Benedictine Hallmark where people can make fun bracelets," says Professor Spoerl. "We will also be doing a film screening of actual archival footage, which was recently digitized, from the day the Abbey Church was consecrated almost 50 years ago."

Events will be both celebratory and educational, including a beer event with monks, a retreat, and the film on the dedication of the Saint Anselm Abbey Church, sponsored by Delta Epsilon Sigma and introduced by college archivist Keith Chevalier.

Benedictine Heritage Week is sponsored by the Council on Being Catholic and Benedictine and co-sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry.
