Four Alumni Recognized for Good Work

Four Saint Anselm College alumni were recently named to The Union Leader's "40 Under Forty" list, which recognizes local citizens for their service and talent to New Hampshire.

Carey Cahoon was honored for her contribution to the arts in New Hampshire. The classics major co-founded local theater company Theatre KAPOW with her husband (Matthew Cahoon '99) seven years ago. Since then, Theatre KAPOW has performed more than 25 productions.

A self-professed theatre-lover, Cahoon is also involved with the college's student group, the Anselmian Abbey Players. She has directed more than 12 Abbey Player shows in the last 12 years and also assists with set building.

Kate Giaquinto '10


Saint Anselm College alumna Kate Giaquinto

Kate Giaquinto, a member of the class of 2010, was recognized for her positive impact as the communications director for the New Hampshire Senate. The English major chose a career path in politics, while using her minor in communication, to clarify and translate senators' messages to the public.

As a director on the Manchester Young Professionals Network's Board, Giaquinto seeks to engage young people and promote change. She hopes to spread awareness of the endless opportunities in New Hampshire.

Alexandra Puglisi '11


Saint Anselm alumna Alexandra Puglisi

It is a dream come true in a coffee mug for business major Alexandra Puglisi when at the age of 23, she opened her own coffee shop in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The Union Leader honored her in cooperation with the Business Industry Association of New Hampshire. Since opening her doors in March 2013, Puglisi has worked closely with other small businesses in downtown Manchester during a time when the area is said to be experiencing a revival. Keith Raho '07


Saint Anselm College alumnus Keith Raho

Keith Raho, a member of the class of 2007, was recognized for his generosity in the workplace. The English major is currently the senior grant writer for Easter Seals NH, a nonprofit, community-based health agency dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities. As a student, Raho participated in spring break alternative service trips through the Office of Campus Ministry, which played a significant role in his choice of career path.

An active member of the Manchester community, Raho is a member of the Granite United Way's Emerging Leaders Society and the Kiwanis Club of Manchester.
