Dr. Elona K. Lucas joined the faculty at Saint Anselm College in 1981 and over the years has taught a variety of courses, including Linguistics, History of the English Language, Medieval Literature, Chaucer, Arthurian Legends in Literature, African American Literature, and seminars on Jane Austen and Willa Cather.

She has published articles on medieval mystics, most notably Julian of Norwich and Margery Kempe, and she continues her research on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, analyzing the numerical and numerological structure of the work as well as studying the influence that the Green Man, a figure in the art and architecture of the Middle Ages, may have had on the poem.
